The BMS-ANed board is pleased to announce a course for statisticians interested in serving on Data and Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMBs).
This full-day course will be held on 27th November 2024 in Utrecht (Vredenburg 19). It will combine expert-led lectures with interactive small group sessions, where participants will work through practical scenarios that reflect the challenges faced by DSMBs. You will gain a deeper understanding of key responsibilities such as monitoring interim data, evaluating the safety of participants, and making data-driven decisions on the continuation of the study. The course will be taught by experienced professionals in the field: Prof Kit Roes (Radboud UMC), Prof Saskia le Cessie (LUMC), and dr Rob Kessels (Utrecht UMC).
This course is intended for professional statisticians who are either considering a role on a DSMB or wish to enhance their understanding of the statistical responsibilities within these boards. It offers a unique opportunity to develop theoretical and practical skills, and engage in discussions with peers.
More details and a link for registration will follow soon.
