On Thursday, March 20, during the Annual Meeting of the VVS-OR, Martijn Gösgens received the Van Zwet award for the PhD-thesis titled “Detecting small and large communities in networks”. The laudatio of the jury, chaired by Jelle Goeman, praised Martijn’s “important conceptual innovation that led to many new theoretical insights and practical methods”. The VVS-OR congratulates Martijn!!!
An honorary mention was further given to the thesis of Danique de Moor, “A novel approach for a broad class of nonconvex optimization problems”.
