We are happy to announce our ninth online seminar in the Biostatistics Seminar Series on Thursday, September 26th, 16h-17h
This series of Biostatistics seminars targets a broad (bio)statistical audience, in particular PhD-students. Specialists discuss a topic of their interest, paying particular attention to concepts relevant and accessible to a non-specialist audience as well.

Title
AI in Health Care
Abstract
What is this thing called artificial intelligence? (how) can it be used in healthcare? And what should I care as a biostatistician?
In this seminar I will introduce AI, starting with its definition and history. I’ll talk about deep learning and large-language models such as ChatGPT. Then I will detail where and how AI may be used in healthcare, contrasting it with (bio)statistics. Finally I will highlight areas of pitfalls and limitations for AI in healthcare.
