Applications are invited for a PhD position in Statistics at the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics, Delft University of Technology.
The PhD candidate will be supervised by Hanne Kekkonen and Joris Bierkens, and will work on the project “Fast Bayesian sampling methods for applications in physics”. The aim of the project is to develop new sampling methods that enable fast computation for challenging models in materials science from a Bayesian perspective. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in statistics, probability, machine learning, analysis or numerical analysis, and affinity with coding numerical methods, e.g. in Python, C++, or Julia.
