We are back with another edition of our famous Statistics Café! This time around, we have decided to focus on a fun activity: sports ⚽️✨ Two professional speakers will join us and talk about their experience as sports statisticians. Let’s get to know them better:
Koen is a PhD candidate in Statistical Football Analysis at TU Delft. His work revolves around evaluating football actions with regard to goal scoring.
Max is a data scientist for KNLTB. He primarily works on Statistical Tennis Analysis, and is currently developing an Elo rating system for padel.
What’s the program? We will start the two presentations, each followed by a Q&A.
Then, there will be an open discussion with both speakers and all participants, where you will be able to ask questions the presentations, technical questions about the methods, or more general questions about working in sports data science.
Finally, we will wrap-up the evening with a nice borrel! 🍻
